One thing that didn’t go over well was the new art for Kingdom Hearts Collection 1-3 which had a number of mistakes in it and was quickly set upon by social media users as utilising AI. Fast forward to today and Square Enix was contacted about this very topic. The company said that no AI was used in the creation of the image and that it was simply the result of human error. The image has since been replaced.
“We’re aware of feedback regarding recent Kingdom Hearts visuals,” reads the statement, which was shared via phone call with a Square Enix PR rep. “These assets were created by our development team without the use of generative AI, and the issues resulted from human error.”
“Quality is extremely important to us, and updated assets have been implemented where appropriate.”
