At WIRED, one of our goals is to be your guide to the technologies that shape our world and the people behind them. Over the next month, we're highlighting 10 incredible women who are changing the fields of astronomy, medicine, physics, psychology, health care, and science communication. Today, we are introducing you to four of them.

WIRED has always been about compelling storytelling that helps you understand our world. We don't just report a story. We dig into the people that make up the story. For this series, we look not only at the latest advances, but also at the scientists behind them.
