SEGA is on a heavy recruitment drive for the Sonic Team with a range of roles being advertised to scale up the team, presumably ahead of a new mainline Sonic entry. Vacancies include a Producer role along with a Lead Planner, so these aren’t just run of the mill positions at Sonic Team. Here’s the positions currently available:
Scenario Writer (Sonic-Specific): Handling game script creation, director coordination, and voice recording. Time to turn those fanfics into canon! Well, maybe not all of them…
Producer (Sonic-Specific): Managing the overarching project pipeline, proving SEGA is dead serious about fortifying Sonic’s development line.
Lead Planner: Driving the overall game design, tracking planning milestones, and shaping the core gameplay loop.
Lead Graphics Programmer: For the rendering geeks. This role focuses on researching next-gen rendering tech and designing custom render modules for SEGA’s in-house engine.
Client Programmer: Coding player mechanics, enemy behavior, and game progression for home consoles using internal engines, Unity, or Unreal.
Technical Art Manager & TA Engineer: Overseeing art pipeline strategies, designing workflows, and utilizing Maya, Houdini, and HDAs to bridge the gap between art and code.
