A long-lost Pokemon game has found its way on eBay sparking a lot of interest from collectors and preservationists. The game is PokePark Fishing Contest DS, which was released through the Nintendo DS Download Play feature back in 2005. The game has now been listed on eBay for €7,999, which is approximately $9,100. PokePark Fishing Contest DS has been listed as on a Nintendo DS Development/Test Cartridge and is sure to be snapped up. There are hopes that that the cartridge will be bought by someone who is willing to preserve its contents. |
«The game was never released on a traditional retail cartridge. Downloaded copies disappeared after the Nintendo DS was switched off and were also limited to 12 hours, leaving the title largely inaccessible once its distribution events ended.» |

Nintendo has announced that two previously unreleased Virtual Boy titles are being added to the Nintendo Classics library. D-HOPPER (originally known as Dragon Hopper), an action-adventure game developed by Intelligent Systems but was never released due to the low sales of the Virtual Boy, and ZERO RACERS, a cancelled spin-off of the F-Zero series developed by Nintendo, will both be available for the first time on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on 4th August 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers. |
To play these games (or any of the others available on the Virtual Boy – Nintendo Classics app), you’ll also need the headset replica that the Nintendo Switch (or Switch 2) system can be inserted into in handheld mode for an authentic Virtual Boy experience, or the cheaper cardboard variant, both of which are available to purchase from Nintendo’s website. |
Additionally, music from five Virtual Boy games have been added to the Nintendo Music streaming service: Wario Land, Mario’s Tennis, Mario Clash, Galactic Pinball, and Teleroboxer. The Nintendo Music app is a free download on iOS and Android, and you can also now listen in a web browser, as long as you have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. |

Nintendo has announced that the next game to be added to the ever expanding Nintendo Classics library will be Super Mario Sunshine (2002). Previously announced over a year ago, appearing briefly on a sizzle reel when GameCube was first revealed as a newly added benefit for Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers, we now finally have a release date. Super Mario Sunshine launches on 13th August 2026 via the “Nintendo GameCube – Nintendo Classics” app, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 system. If you were lucky enough to purchase Super Mario 3D All-Stars before it was discontinued in 2021, or if you’re willing to pay reseller prices for a physical copy, Super Mario Sunshine can also be enjoyed on the original Switch. |

Update: amiibo listings now state releasing 12th November, which is a Thursday. |
Nintendo UK has listed Sword Kirby and Dragoon and Noir Dedede and Hydra amiibo for release on 12th November. You may be wondering why this important? Well, amiibo generally release alongside a Nintendo published title and Nintendo has no titles listed for November. Speculation online suggests that the highly-anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake could launch on that very date. As always we will have to see what happens with this. |
