Nintendo has recently patented a Dock which supports the use of both the original Nintendo Switch system and the newer Nintendo Switch 2 platform. As Nintendo Patents Watch notes both systems handle the Power Delivery negotiation differently. Though with this Dock it can recognise which console is connected, be it a Nintendo Switch or a Nintendo Switch 2.
