Today, The Pokémon Company International revealed a Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid Battle event for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Trainers will have the chance to encounter and capture Shiny Rayquaza with Dragon as its Tera Type in 5-star Tera Raid Battles from Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 4:00 PM PT / 7:00 PM ET to Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 3:59 PM PT / 6:59 PM ET.

To celebrate this special event, themed mass outbreaks featuring Pokémon with black Shiny forms will co-occur. Leading up to Shiny Rayquaza's debut, a three-part Tera Raid Battle series will feature Pokémon that can help Trainers prepare to take on this Legendary Pokémon.

Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid Battle Event:
Encounter Shiny Rayquaza with Dragon Tera Type and battle for exclusive rewards.
Mass Outbreak Events Featuring Black Shiny Pokémon:
Fraxure, Carbink, and Cetoddle will appear in higher numbers, with increased chances of being Shiny.
Three-Part Tera Raid Preparation Series:
Catch Corviknight, Bellibolt, Azumarill, Clodsire, Annihilape, and Kingambit before taking on Shiny Rayquaza.
