Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition has received its latest update for Nintendo Switch and it appears to be a notable one, with several significant changes and the addition of a Classic Lighting mode.
First, here are the official patch notes from Rockstar:
- Numerous fixes and improvements
- Added Classic Lighting mode which restores the look and feel of the sky in the original games
X user and RockstarINTEL writer SynthPotato noted in a post what those "fixes and improvements" entailed.
Some of the biggest changes are that the fog from the original games is back, players can fly through clouds in GTA San Andreas, and that it is now possible to pause cutscenes in all three games in the trilogy.
Crouching has also been fixed, and the changing weather in GTA San Andreas has been improved upon to where the differences in weather between areas are now noticeable.
SynthPotato also pointed out that Grove Street Games, the developer of the trilogy, has been removed from the credits as a part of the patch, for reasons unknown.
The update is now live on Nintendo Switch and all other versions of the game.
