Bowery is one of more than 50 vertical farming companies in the U.S. Compared with traditional farms, vertical farms grow crops faster with higher yields, while using far less water and no pesticides--they’re 100 times more productive per square foot of farmland. It’s no wonder the controlled environment agriculture industry has attracted billions in startup capital over the past decade.
