Good morning, It’s easy, free, and requires no special equipment. Don’t underestimate the power of praise to motivate people. If done correctly, it builds social capital and even loyalty, so people will follow you even when things get tough. It may seem counterintuitive to tell an employee on a difficult day that they’re doing a great job. After all, when you’re alone at the top, no one offers such words to you. In her latest book, From Start-Up to Grown-Up, executive coach and Inc. columnist Alisa Cohn explains why positive reinforcement can take your team from good to great--and how to do it well. |
