Few people understand the art of scaling a business better than Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, former top executive at PayPal, partner at venture capital firm Greylock, and investor in major tech companies such as Facebook and Airbnb. During an appearance Thursday at the 2021 virtual Inc. 5000 Vision Conference, Hoffman admits that exponentially fast growth, which he refers to as “blitzscaling,” is in some part, due to sheer luck.
"You can't anticipate everything,” said Hoffman, who recently published the new book, Masters of Scale: Surprising Truths From the World's Most Successful Entrepreneurs. “You can't prep for everything."
