The well-received superhero workplace comedy Dispatch is censored on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 and the developers say they worked alongside Nintendo to ensure it met the Kyoto-based company's criteria. The developers say that the "core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical" in Dispatch, but clearly there have been some omissions from the PlayStation 5 and PC versions.
"Different platforms have different content criteria, and submissions are evaluated individually," AdHoc said in a statement shared with Eurogamer, ahead of Dispatch's Switch release. The studio assured, though, that the censorship on Nintendo's consoles does not affect Dispatch's overall narrative experience or gameplay.
"We worked with Nintendo to ensure the content within the title met the criteria to release on their platforms, but the core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical to the original release," the developer stated.
