How to run your startup from a backpack |
| | Note: Kevin J. Ryan, staff writer at Inc., is stepping in for Brit while she is away from the computer today. Good morning, It’s one thing to travel lightly. It’s another thing to live that way day in and day out. For Kevin Unrich, the 24-year-old co-founder of data company qz, minimalism has become a way of life. Unrich occasionally works out of a friend’s office in San Francisco, but his true home is the road. As such, he’s reduced his belongings down to a single backpack, which he takes with him to conferences, investor pitches, and meetings with fellow entrepreneurs. The freedom has allowed him opportunities he thinks he wouldn’t have had if he was tied to a single location. “We’re trying to build a company that is more decentralized and diverse than your typical tech startup,” says Unrich. Check out Inc.’s story to find out what’s in Unrich’s backpack and learn more about his nomadic approach to entrepreneurship. |
