Japan is Nintendo’s strongest market so it’s no surprise to hear that the Nintendo Switch 2 has already surpassed five million units sold in The Land of the Rising Sun. To compare the PlayStation 5 has now surpassed 7.5 million, but that was released back in 2020, whereas the Nintendo Switch 2 went on sale in June 2025.
