Iconic video game designer, Tetsuya Nomura, has revealed in a recent interview that even after all these years he is still asked by developers to create them a character similar to the iconic Sephiroth from the classic, Final Fantasy VII. He says that the request still surprises him to some degree as he designed the character roughly 30 years ago. Even so, Nomura says that he's relieved he made a character that's so approachable to both old and new fans.
When asked about why he opted to revisit a character he designed 30 years ago, Nomura cited the currently ongoing Final Fantasy Remake project, but also touched on Sephiroth's enduring popularity as a character. He revealed that when working on games and other projects, he constantly gets asked "Hey, can you make me a character like Sephiroth?'"
