| UK video game journalist Christopher Dring has shared news about the Nintendo Switch 2's success following the release of the popular Pokemon Pokopia video game. Dring says that Nintendo Switch 2 UK sales managed to jump around 154% in March month-on-month following the release of Pokemon Pokopia. He went on to say that Nintendo accounts for over 50% of all consoles sold in the UK so far this year. However, Dring mentioned that there is one small caveat in the fact that March has been a five-week month, whereas February was a four-week month. | | | Furniture manufacturer IKEA is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Japan and to celebrate proceedings a a special island, IKEA Island, will feature in the Pokemon Pokopia's Cloud Island Virtual Mode. The Cloud Island will be available tomorrow through to 30th June. It will contain special room sets designed by dedicated IKEA designers. There will also be a special Stamp Rally taking place at IKEA stores from 18th April through to 10th May where you can get a special display. There will also be food decorated with Pokemon from the game at various IKEA restaurants. | | | Iconic film and animation studio Disney has apparently been mulling over whether to purchase Epic Games and its gargantuan free-to-play game, Fortnite. This new information comes from reputable tech reporter, Alex Heath, who spoke about Disney decision on Matthew Belloni's podcast, The Town. Some higher ups at Disney believe it to be a good idea whereas others believe the polar opposite. Disney is apparently looking for a healthy studio in the gaming space according to former executives at the company. | | | Animal Crossing: New Horizons received a major Version 3.0 update back in January, introducing the Slumber Islands and Resort Hotel. Both of these in-game areas included some new music tracks, which are now available on the Nintendo Music app (free for Switch Online members). The Hotel playlist adds 4 new tracks, while the Slumber Island playlist adds 6, joining the original soundtrack for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, included with the service since the app launched in October 2024.

Most notably, it has been made easier to take shortcuts while using a Bullet Bill, and the length of the course roulette has been decreased during online/wireless play.
