While we are firmly in 2025, premier Japanese gaming website and magazine Famitsu has held its annual Famitsu Game Awards event and obviously the candidates for the awards are video games from 2024. It is clear that there was one big winner at this year's award ceremony and that game was Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth for the PlayStation 5 and PC. Nintendo scooped two awards at this year's event with Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective walking sway with Best Adventure Game and Pokemon Legends Z-A receiving the award for Most Anticipated Game. - Best Online Game: FF14
- Best Action/ Adventure: Rise of the Ronin
- Best Adventure: Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective
- Best Mobile: Zenless Zone Zero
- Most Anticipated: Pokémon Legends Z-A
- Rookie Award: Metaphoe ReFantazio
- Famitsu Dengeki Special Award: Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story, Shiren the Wanderer, Black Myth Wukong
