The following games are included in the update: IKARI WARRIORS (1986), Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom (1991), and R.C. PRO-AM II (1992). All of these titles were originally published by different studios: SNK, Tecmo, and Tradewest respectively, with the first two developed by the publisher and the third developed by Rare. As always, these classic titles can be accessed from the “Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Classics” app that can be downloaded via the Nintendo eShop for anyone with an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Read on blog or Reader My Nintendo News Mario Kart 8 Deluxe updated for Nintendo Switch 2 with 8 player split-screen and more By nintendojam on September 2, 2026 Nintendo has released a massive update for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (you read the title correctly). The 2017 predecessor to Mario Kart World (and one of the best-selling games of all time) has now been improved further for Nintendo Switch 2. Version 4.0.0 offers higher resolution for sharper visuals, much like with yesterday’s Pikmin 3 Deluxe update, and support for 5-8 player split-screen, CameraPlay, and shorten load times. Races will also now feel slightly faster for both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 players; “the equivalent of one coin” to be exact. Check out the full patch notes below! Latest update: Ver. 4.0.0 (Released September 1, 2026) Support for the Nintendo Switch 2 system Added support for the Nintendo Switch 2 display and high-resolution TVs, allowing for clearer visuals. Shortened the loading time before races and battles begin. Added support for 5–8 players in Multiplayer. You can connect up to seven Nintendo Switch controllers (Joy-Con or Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers) to the Nintendo Switch 2 system. In order to play with eight people, you need at least one Joy-Con 2 controller or a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. Added CameraPlay support. A USB camera (sold separately) is required to use CameraPlay. Players can turn camera ON or OFF in Multiplayer (2-4 players) and Online Play modes. In order to use a camera on the internet, players must participate in a GameChat session. The camera footage and microphone audio will be sent only to GameChat members. When the camera is ON, the player’s face is displayed during the race. General Increased player speed during races by the equivalent of one coin. Players will not slow down while using Boo to become invisible, even when entering an offroad area. Players with access to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass will have “96 Races” added to the “VS Race” rule settings. Comment Like You can also reply to this email to leave a comment.
