The game is still receiving new content on all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, even though the game originally released more than 8 years ago. In fact, the Switch version of the game was recently updated to version 1.6. Not surprisingly, a major update being released means that there's usually some bugs here and there that need to be fixed. This new update is no exception, so a new patch update has been recently released for Stardew Valley Switch.
