Dragon Quest series' creator Yuji Horii has stated that if fans play the upcoming Dragon Quest HD-2D remakes in chronological order then they will be treated to a new surprise which we haven't seen before. Horii wouldn't go into any further details as to what players who accomplish the task should expect. Dragon Quest III was a prequel story, so in terms of chronology, the titles are ordered Dragon Quest III, Dragon Quest 1 and finally Dragon Quest II. Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake launches first and is due out on 14th November.
