Good morning, In an era where "moving fast and breaking things" has become the norm in the tech world, Ajeet Singh's approach to starting a business is decidedly less dramatic--and maybe even a bit old-fashioned. Singh has co-founded two multibillion-dollar tech companies, Nutanix and ThoughtSpot. Nutanix, a hybrid cloud platform, launched in 2009 before eventually notching the No. 86 spot on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies in America in 2016. Today, it’s a top-three leader in the $2 billion hyperconverged infrastructure market. ThoughtSpot, a business intelligence platform founded in 2012, drew a $20 million investment from cloud software giant Snowflake in March. That same month, the company dipped its toes into the acquisition market, purchasing analytics company SeekWell. Those may seem like slow growth trajectories--and that’s intentional. For both of them, Singh spent nearly a year just analyzing the market before even developing what the concept for the business would be. Read our story to learn how a think-things-through philosophy has helped Singh avoid “mega surprises” en route to entrepreneurial success. |
