How to snag grant money from last night's Super Bowl concert |
| | Good morning, If you stayed awake after last night’s big game, you probably encountered the star-studded Big Concert for Small Businesses on multiple TV channels and internet streaming services. As the name suggests, stars like Alicia Keys, Brandi Carlile, Christina Aguilera, and more performed to help raise money for small businesses across the country. Today’s question: How can your business snag some of that grant money? The answer lies with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) in New York City, which will be dispersing the funds as a series of $10,000 grants. The grants are specifically aimed at underserved businesses, minority-led companies, sole proprietors, and unbanked entrepreneurs located in disadvantaged neighborhoods. Applications are available on LISC’s website, as of today. Before you check it out, read our story to learn your company’s chances of landing a grant, and what you’ll need to prepare for the application. |
