| Gardening is a leisure-time pursuit reserved for the elderly, right? Happily retired with an acre of land, idling away the days trimming the trilliums and propagating the peonies. I moved to London as soon as I graduated from university and got a job. Ever since, the idea of a private outdoor space has been a distant dream. I've filled the void by joining the Instagram masses and adorning my place with indoor greenery. I even tried to grow herbs from a window box. One day our canal-side apartment was subjected to a heavy downpour and I watched on helplessly as my basil and sage uprooted and plunged into the open water.
