Despite criticism from within his own party after the recent midterm elections, Trump still enters the Republican primaries with advantages no other potential candidate has.

Pelosi, widely regarded even by those who disagree with her as one of the most effective House speakers in history, stepped down in an unusual setting-aside of political ego.
