You may remember that an investor asked the team at Square Enix whether it would be possible to bring a remake of Final Fantasy XV to the Nintendo Switch. Well, it turns out that was a mistranslation online and the investor asked about the original game coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Square Enix informed the investor that while it’s “not entirely impossible” they will pass along the message to the development team. Here’s what was said via the English question and answer session:
Does the “FINAL FANTASY VII” remake released on the Nintendo Switch 2 imply that it is technically feasible to port other past entries from the “FINAL FANTASY” series? I would like to see a Switch 2 version of “FINAL FANTASY XV.” Are you considering that?
First, while there are certain hardware constraints when it comes to faithfully replicating the exact experience of “FINAL FANTASY XV,” we can say that it is not entirely impossible. As to whether we will actually deploy it on the Nintendo Switch 2, we will pass along your input to the development team as a valuable perspective on marketing and future platform options.

Q: What are your plans for the Mega Man series going forward?
A: The Mega Man series is an important IP that will mark its 40th anniversary in 2027. Beyond our announcement at the end of last year that a new title in the series, Mega Man: Dual Override, is scheduled for release in 2027, we will continue working to communicate the appeal of the series to an even broader audience, including through merchandise initiatives.”
