With the former president's orbit shrinking, he has shrouded himself in the imagery of the fringe conspiracy group QAnon.

Republicans have been predicting a midterm red wave. But voter registration is indicating something different: women turning out in high numbers driven largely by the June abortion rights ruling.

The president's approval ratings had been in the basement for much of the year, but after a string of wins he is getting higher marks from Democrats as they work to keep control of Congress.

Putin tacitly admitted to the embarrassing realities facing him in Ukraine by calling up 300,000 reservists to bolster his flagging campaign – and showed how dangerous he can be.

The president acknowledged criticisms over his comment and attempted to clarify it during remarks before a Democratic audience before giving the virus scant mention during an address to world leaders.

In nationally watched races for governor and Senate, polling suggests voters in Georgia are comfortable splitting the ticket – an unusual development in an era of highly partisan politics.
